white line on the monitor

I advice you to change distro in order to understand the dynamics of your problem; you provided incompatible and insufficient info in order to do it.
A new os from which you are able to acquire more "quality" information ("quality"=you'll practice with that new distro for the same time used for your current mandriva) could be a great solution
.
The quality is really important for the principle of "variable according to time".
I'll give you the hardware solving only after previous mentioned testing.

I haven't done yet what you said me : install an other distro with mandriva, beacuse I don't know how I can choose
.
But in these days I've discovered an inportant thing that could bring to the resolution of the problem.
If I choose "dark" Desktop Wallpaper, I don't see much this white line, indeed I don't see this.
Instead if I choose a "light" desktop wallpaper, I see very well this white line, in fact it is very marked on the screen.
what do you think?
thnaks

I left this topic, but I don't forget it
Well, many things have happened in recent months, for example, the monitor was initially stopped, then went out suddenly, despite the PC is switched on. I solved all these problems by changing my video card (ati radeon x300) in a NVIDIA Geforce 8400GS. I noticed that the white line remained, although less markedly at first, from what I gather that the problem is in the monitor.
If you don't understand things of this message, tell me.
bye
